Our E-mail account is full of e-mails from students, here are responses from some of our
students. Please note we deliberatly selected few of those who felt that they did not do well:
"I wanted to thank you for the FE class review.
It was very useful, I can see I was more prepared than before I took the test a year ago.
Last Saturday, the morning was good, the afternoon was hard; I hope I have passed. if not I will continue studying your notes.
I wished I did not miss some classes, but I had to be with my kids since my husband was away on business trips.
I wish you good luck and maybe you could do review PE exams in the future. "
"Your class was VERY helpful Without it, I couldn't have been able to answer any one of the questions on Saturday. Since my degrees are in Geology and Environmental, I never took any of these courses in college. Frankly, on my first day of your class, I thought of dropping out right away and give up pursuing engineering, because I didn't think I would understand any of the subjects. At the end I can confidently say that I am glad I didn't. I know I failed this time (Unfortunately, I could only answer 50% of the questions in the afternoon. The rest was guess! How terrible is that!!), but quite apart from the fact I didn't do well this time, the materials that I learned in your class will stick to my brain and will be utilized for the next EIT in April. I may see you in December"
"Thanks for your wonderful class, on general note your prdictions were correct. I am hoping and praying that I pass this time, however i feel i should continue for the next round if there be need. Please do let me know of your future class schedule, i plan to attend and strengthen my weakness. I have already referred few guys for your class and hopefully they will contact you.
Thanks again and I look forward to seeing you soon."
"I believe the morning session was a breeze after taking your class, many of the problems were in fact easier than the morning tests you provided, which helped out. The afternoon was more challenging.
Overall I think your class provided the problems typical in the EIT, the type of problems were covered in class were in the EIT. "
"Your class really helped! I came into the class with pretty much no knowledge of the majority of the subjects. You did a great job teaching! I do not believe I passed the EIT yesterday but I have faith that if I study your material for the next six months that April I will have a good chance of passing. What you taught was pretty much what was on the exam. Unfortunately, I cannot give you any examples. My memory is not great. It may not have seemed like it, (since I didn't do well on the quizzes) but I worked hard each week learning the material. I just didn't have enough time to learn everything that was needed. An extra six months will really help!I really appreciated your class and the way you covered the material as thoroughly as possible with the time available. You kept the class moving and didn't get bogged down in side bars. You took the time to answer questions without wasting time. I would definitely recommend your class. The biggest drawback for me was the 5 hours drive. You really know all of the subjects you teach and you know how to teach them. The only thing I would recommend is that you spell check your power point slides. I don't know if you know this or not but the EIT certificate has a typo in the word completion. Whether I pass the EIT this October or not, I will not be able to take your class again. (Five hour drive) I was hoping I could still get the lectures off of your web page next time you give the class(if there is anything new that I don't already have. (I think I'm under the 20 strikes.)I have talked to a few of my classmates and they all agree that they were very happy they took the review and found it extremely helpful."
"It definitely helped with the morning section, but the afternoon section was a bit harder, but it did help. I think if I would have worked on the harder problems in fluids and thermo it would have been better. The math and electrical wasn't too bad. I didn't have time to answer 32 problems in the morning either, so I would definitely work on time. I have taken this exam more than 6 times, at least, and this was probably the best I've felt coming out about it. Hopefully it would be the last. I think the class is worth it though. I really thank you for your time and effort in making this a good class. "
"As I went through the test it was really helpful the way you taught us in the class mostly graphs and use of calculator.I got minimum 5-8 questions right by calculator and I save the time. I had one problem today in finding the drag co-efficient from reynolds no. i did'nt get the answer i.e for rey. no. 6.58*1000 what is the D.C.I got .7.I did it twice but no use. There were 2-4 q's from BHN no. Lot from economics.Overall I should score between 60-70% rest is luck.Your lectures were really helpful.Unit conversions were tricky but I got all right."
"I think I got about 60% correct on the exam. Without your class I believe I would have got about 15% correct. For someone like me who has been out of school for a while (20 years), and never having any upper division courses, I think I would have got more out of your class if Statics, Dynamics, Chemistry, and Materials were taught before fluids and thermo. I’m not sure that having fluids and thermo at the beginning of the class is the best strategy because overall study time can limit refresher time over the course of the semester, making these topics less fresh going into the exam. Also, having the lower-division before the upper division will make grasping fluids and thermo easier, especially when it comes to the atomic knowledge necessary for fluids and thermo. I also think, as a warm up to the engineering topics, all the math (math, statistics, econ) should be covered first. I think this strategy would strengthen basic math skills necessary for the engineering calculations. These recommendations are coming from someone who has been out of school for a long time and never completed his degree. For someone relatively fresh out of school, within a few years, I don’t think the order would really matter very much.
I would recommend your class to everybody."
"After taking the exam I can honestly say that your class was excellent. Of course you could not pinpoint every question that would be on the exam but you did a great job considering the multitude of possible questions they could ask. I have to emphasize that being proficient on the calculator was priceless. You did a great job teaching us how to use the calculator. I appreciate that you several times emphasized how invaluable it is to know how to use that calculator regularly in your class.
Thank you again for an excellent class. If I had taken the other prep classes or studied on my own I doubt if I would have been prepared for the exam. Your class really did help me out tremendously."
